DANI BARCIA

Dani Barcia, full name Daniel Barcia Rama, was born on January 19, 2003, in Cambre, A Coruña, Spain. From a young age, he loved football and joined the youth academy of Deportivo de La Coruña, where he progressed through all the youth levels, starting with the youngest teams.

In 2021, after finishing his development in the academy, Barcia signed a new contract and was promoted to the club’s reserve team, Deportivo B (Fabril). In September of the same year, he made his senior debut in the Tercera División RFEF. In November 2022, he played his first match for Deportivo’s first team in the Copa del Rey. Before the 2023–24 season, he was officially promoted to the first team. In February 2025, he extended his contract with the club until 2028, showing the club’s trust in him and his important role in the team.

Barcia plays as a central defender and is left-footed. His main strength is bringing the ball out from the back and passing accurately. He has said that playing with the ball is his natural style, but he is still working to improve his aggressiveness and strength in defensive duels.

Dani has also played for the Spain U-19 national team, representing his country at the youth level. In the 2024–25 season, he became an important player for Deportivo in the Segunda División. Although he suffered a thigh injury at one point, the club extended his contract, showing faith in his potential.

At 22 years old, Dani Barcia is considered one of Deportivo’s most promising young defenders. He is seen as a loyal and hardworking player who has stayed with the club where he grew up. He has good chances to continue developing and reach higher levels in his football career.
